Mental Skills & Performance Coaching

I am a Mental Skills and Performance Coach, and offer coaching and also courses for individuals. I work with people both within and outwith sport, at any level. My passion is to help you develop the mental skills to achieve your goals, whether that means improving what you do already, or addressing problems or challenges you may have. 

I help you look at how you are approaching your goals or sporting events, how you behave, and whether you are in your best mental state to achieve your potential and be your best you. If you are struggling with motivation or confidence, or perhaps over-whelmed, over-thinking, distracted or nervous, then I can help you with mental techniques to improve. This can include looking at how you manage your emotions around big events, and pre- and post-event routines to help you be your best you when it counts.

I offer:

  • Personal coaching, one to one, in person if feasible, or by Skype/ phone.
  • Mental toolkit hand-outs to help you, based on a range of sports psychology and performance coaching methods.
  • ‘Mind Yoga’ retreats in Mallorca from December to May: time for you to  enjoy the beautiful island, with one to one coaching support to hand.

Whilst I use proven methods and academic approaches to help you, my work is grounded in experience, and in practical, applicable approaches. I understand what it is like to travel the journey from low confidence to belief, from last to first, from novice to Paralympic gold. I have competed for over ten years in cycling and triathlon at international, Commonwealth and Paralympic level, and have a wealth of experience gained from a lifetime of adventurous individual and team challenges. 

Sometimes, our mind needs help. It might need to be stretched in new directions, challenged to find new ways of thinking, or calmed so that we can focus and perform.

My philosophy is that to have the most impact in life, we should challenge our constraints, sculpt our mindset, and support each other to be the best we can be. What is life if it isn’t an adventure? I’m constantly amazed by what can be achieved if we set our heart and mind to it. It’s all about finding belief, confidence, motivation and commitment. And of course, friends. Then there are no limits.
